Ceramic Tiles
A celebration of the grandiosity and glory of traditional Moroccan architecture, this handmade silk stole is a feast for the senses. It features a circular water fountain surrounded by walls adorned with tadelakt plaster and charming ceramic tiles also known as zellij.
The stylized fountain is decorated with fragments of bandhani and block-printed fabric to recreate the beauty of intricate tile work. Created for leisure and relaxation, these spaces have water features in the center, in addition to lemon and orange trees. The grandeur of the blue zellij tiles is difficult to describe in mere words, it has all been reimagined and etched on this exotic piece. The fine art of Ajrakh is used to recreate the beauty of the exquisite tiles. It involves a detailed process of resist-printing and dyeing using twenty intricately carved blocks, which takes almost three weeks to complete. The end result I'd a beautiful piece of silken fabric soaked in incredible charm.
